On November 21, 2023, Yafei Cheng successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis "A study of the distributivity and modularity of several vertical implications and aggregation functions" at the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Shaanxi Normal University, Xi'an, China. She was awarded the title of Doctor of Mathematics. Yafei was supervised by Bin Zhao and Bernard De Baets. She spent one year at KERMIT supported by the China Scholarship Council.
